SIZES: 10 (12-14-16-18)
16 oz base color A
8 oz contrast color B
Needles 7, 11 both double pointed and circular
BODY:
With size 7 circular, cast on 46(48-50-54-56)
Place marker so you have even number of stitches between front and back
k1, p1 with A for 4”. in the round, moving markers, keeping even stitches between markers
Change to B work two rows
Change to A work 4 rows.
Repeat last two rows three times.
Work 4 rows A
Start main body in k in the round for 20” or desired length to underarm
ARMHOLES:
Bind off 3 stitches one side of marker, work across to other marker, TURN
This is where it divides off for front.
Bind off 3 stitches , p across.
Dec 1 st each armhole edge every other row for 3 (3-3-4-4) times
So you have 34(36-38-40-42) sts.
Work even until 7” (7 ¼- 71/2- 7 ¾-8”) from beginning armhole.
SHOULDERS:
K 2 together 3 times each armhole once
Then 3 (3-4-4-5) sts at each armhole edge once so you have
22 (24-24-26-26) sts.
Bind off
FRONT:
You have already been working front with the back. You have bound off the back and have stitches left on the circular needle. You stopped at the armhole.
ARMHOLES AND NECK:
Bind off 3 sts at beg of next row, work until there are 9 (9-10-11-13) sts on the right sided needle
Bind off 24 (26-28-28-28) sts
Continue across last stitches.
TURN
Bind off 3 sts beg row P across to neckline
Work only these stitches on this side of bind off neckline.
TURN
Dec. 1 st at armhole edge every other row 3 (3-3- 4 - 5) times
Until you have 6 (6-7-7-8) sts on the needle.
Work even until same length as back to shoulders.
Bind off 3 sts at each armhole edge once, then with one st, bind off the rest.
Attach yarn to begin on p side of other armhole, do the same but reverse instructions to correlate with the pattern
End binding off
SLEEVES:
Smaller double pointed needles
cast on 24(24-26-26-28) sts placing marker to know beginning stitch
Work k1 p1 ribbing as follows
A 4 rows
B 2 rows
Three times, end A 4 rows
Change to larger double pointed needles increasing 4 sts across row28(28-30-30-32)
Increase 1 st each side of marker every 6th row 4 (5-5-6-6) times
36(38-40-42-44)
Work at least 16” or desired length to under arm, changing to circular needles when needed.
CAP:
K2 together 3 times work across to marker, TURN change back to dble point needle
P2 together 3 times p across
Dec 1 st each edge every k row 9(10-11-12-13) times until you have 12 sts, then bind off
COLLAR:
With largest circular needle and using A, starting at bottom of right front neck, pick up and k 1 st in each row to shoulder, 1 st in each bound off st on back of neck, 1 st in each row to bottom of left front neck.
DO NOT JOIN
Work back and forth in k1 p1 ribbing using same stripe pattern as beginning body, ending A 4 rows.
Bind off loosely.
Fold right top corner to center, sew from center out collar and neck line.
left top corner to center. Sew from center out collar and neck line.
Fold out.
Stitch the sleeves in, tuck in the yarn strands.
